WCYY is proud to be the first station to syndicate Boston's #1 morning show, Toucher and Rich, as of October 2021. As WCYY Brand Manager, you will work directly with this Sports/Talk show and run point to become a ratings and revenue winner throughout Northern New England. WCYY also broadcasts New England Patriots football on our 103.7 signal. Demonstrated passion and knowledge for rock and sports (from professional to high school) is essential.
We're searching for strong character, ambition, experience, success, and heart to help maximize the performance of our team's talent, grow our audience size (on-air and online), and help generate revenue via local and innovative features, promotions, endorsements, digital platforms, and events.
As Brand Manager, you will be leading one of the biggest and best Rock brands in America. WCYY can be now heard on three frequencies - 94.3 in Portland and Southern Maine, 95.9 in Augusta, and our gigantic 103.7 signal broadcasting from the summit of Mt Washington reaching five states and Canada.
This leader will report to Northern New England's Director of Content, have brand ownership of WCYY, perform an interactive and entertaining daily radio show, and write and publish at least two original articles for each weekday air shift for WCYY.com.
This is not a remote position. On the contrary, you get to live in one of the greatest cities in America, Portland, Maine. Don't worry; the winters aren't too bad… they're an adventure! Responsibilities:
- Vision, Leadership, and Management of Northern New England's newly expanded alternative rock superstation WCYY with Toucher & Rich in the Morning and the New England Patriots
- Entertain and inform audiences both on the air, via WCYY's digital platforms, or social media
outlets, and partner events - Executive daily entertaining and local on-air shift; write at least two original articles per day for WCYY.com; and incorporate digital content into your on-air show
- Engage daily with your audience via the WCYY mobile app and socials including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Assist Director of Content and Market President in building a high performing team positive and creative innovators
- Conduct consistent WCYY strategy and brainstorming sessions with air talent, station leadership and sales team to create the future in ways that have never been done
- Work with sales leadership to generate revenue via on-air and digital endorsements, features and promotions
- Communicate clearly and effectively amongst departments and with key stakeholders
Qualifications
- Leadership
- 5 Years full-time radio experience
- Track record of quantifiable success on-air and writing
- Knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations
- Computer literacy in applicable programs and excellent verbal communication skills
- Public speaking skill and ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting
- Problem-solving ability and skill in prioritizing
- Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels and to multi-task and handle
- Skill in operation of control board, remote broadcasting, and other related production
- High School Diploma
- Must possess valid state driver's license
- Physical Requirements
- May require lifting or moving up to 25 lbs.
