What are the responsibilities and job description for the News Reporter position at Townsquare Media?
The News Reporter oversees all aspects of our Boise station's brands. You have all the tools at your fingertips including great talent, sports research and scheduling, production resources, digital tools, and a passionate local team. We are looking for someone who can take this rising station and continue to raise and cultivate its community image. This position requires someone with a deep passion for the format and who wants to be active in the community.
The primary duties will be working in the News Department. Strong writing ability is required. Knowledge of audio/ video shooting and editing a plus. A minimum of three years working in a radio newsroom preferred. You must also know the value of using social media to help promote your stories.

Responsibilities
- Spend time each day searching for local story ideas
- Engage daily with your audience via the station mobile app and the station’s accounts on social media, including Facebook, and Twitter
- Write and publish at least two original articles for each work day onto the station website
- Incorporate content from the station’s digital platforms into your on-air show
- Conducts on-air interviews, attend and assist in all market cluster live events
- Able to voice track or go live on one or more radio stations when needed, vacation relief, sick days or in case of emergency
- You must have radio experience. This is a radio and broadcasting position.
- Must demonstrate dependability, passion, strong communication and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail, able to multi-task, and has a competitive and winning attitude
- Business acumen, open-mindedness and a sense of what it takes to win are essential
- Previous on-air programming
- NexGen, Zetta and G-Selector experience preferred
- Candidate should be digital savvy
