Building Maintenance Manager

This position is responsible for all aspects of building maintenance and facilities management within the automotive dealership premises.  This role involves ensuring the dealership's facilities are well-maintained, safety compliant, and fully operational.  The Maintenance Manager will handle all maintenance tasks independently from routine inspections to repairs, and will also oversee any renovation or improvement projects as needed.  

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance and Repairs - Independently perform maintenance tasks including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, elevators, and general repairs to ensure the dealership's facilities are well-maintained and operational.

Preventive Maintenance - Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and systems.

Safety and Compliance - Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations by conducting regular inspections and implementing necessary corrective actions.

Emergency Response - Develop and implement emergency response protocols for fire safety, power outages, natural disasters, and other emergencies, and be available to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours.

Renovation Projects - Plan and oversee building renovation projects independently, coordinating with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion within budgetary constraints.

Inventory Management - Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring adequate stock levels to support business operations.

Documentation and Reporting - Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, and prepare regular reports for management review.

Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements in building maintenance operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, administration or facility management
• Minimum experience of 10 years in a supervisory role
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Familiarity in drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics
• Effective communication and people management skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
