SUMMARY

Carry out the day to day operations of the Safety department and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety and Environmental management by providing support to all TAI locations.

Leads, directs, and coordinates the operations of a group within a designated area within the facility. Ensures and improves the safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and positive employee relations using the principles of TPS, and other strategies outlined by the company and division directives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leads Safety Committee, conducts all OSHA and Team Talk training. Collaborates with Corporate Safety to develop programs and implement them.

Manages the Hiyari Hatto program and works with the Safety Committee on scoring submissions. Utilizes the Operational Health Safety Management System (OHSMS) as a guide to improve safety programs at the facility.

Monitor targets for safety performance including leading indicators (Hiyari Hatto, Behavioral Based Safety, etc.) and trailing indicators (incident rates).

Conducts investigation, reporting and countermeasure of safety incidents and audits. Leads Risk Assessments. Support activities of the facility’s safety committee.

  • Maintain and update all documentation to include safety reporting, OHSMS, BCP, OSHA, risk assessments, behavioral based observations, safety programs, training and other duties and responsibilities.
  • Complete root cause analysis, corrective actions and investigations as required.
  • Lead and build safety committee.
  • Comply with all TAI company and safety procedures and policies.
  • Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as Fall Protection, LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.
  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
  • Work with all partner team members, customers and TAI management to provide safety standards, guideline, training, certifications and instructions for safety reporting and performance.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED and 3 to 6 years of experience including supervisory experience.
