TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Engineer, Engine Build.

This position is in Costa Mesa, CA and is available hybrid remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing VBA programs to perform tasks.
• Responsible of optimization of processes using excel.
• Responsible for summarizing and reporting engine performance, health statistics and engine map details.
• Develop high level and complex spreadsheets for analysis and presentation of data.
• Develop and authoring of complex operational procedures.
• Support the creation and development of new software with the goal of improving department efficiency.

Required Experience:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or relative work experience.
• Minimum two years hands on experience in VBA program development.
• Experience with process development. Focus on efficiency improvements through process evaluation and be able to publicize the results citing metrics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of the internal combustion engine.
• Fundamental understanding of data acquisition software.
• Experience working in a dynamic and time sensitive environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Understanding of engine testbed and data acquisition systems.
• Understanding of internal combustion engines.
• Some experience with CAD systems. Ability to design in 3D.

Basic Skills:

• Must have good mechanical understanding.
• Must have good problem-solving skills (computer, engine, testbed, etc.)

Computer Skills:

• Advanced MS Office products – Visual Basic, Excel (macro writing and editing), Word, Outlook.
• Familiar with database search functions.

Special Skills

• Attention to detail: Must be very detail oriented regarding both process creation, documentation and presentation of data.
• Ability to work unsupervised.

The expected base pay range for this position is $91,280 - $148,330 per year.
