Who We’re Looking For

Toyota’s Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support production machining/assembly lines as well as manage Engineering projects.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the 2.4T/2.5 Production lines and objectives to achieve organizational KPI’s and promote teamwork across cross functional teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead project activities from concept to completion, including leading projects, managing milestones/resources, meeting targets, and reporting out to all levels of the company
• Make decisions for process equipment, layouts, investment, process planning & tooling for KPI results achievement.
• Prioritize and implement safety, quality, and productivity improvements; use problem-solving and kaizen implementation to achieve KPIs and improve competitiveness.
• Create, modify, and follow Engineering standards.
• Apply TPS principles for continuous improvement and elimination of waste.
• Lead tooling cost reduction activities including, insourcing/outsourcing, tool selection, tooling trials in Production equipment, and trials/programming in Regrinding equipment.
• Domestic and International travel on occasion.

What You Bring

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in an Engineering capacity
• Working knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints
• Mechatronics experience, including practical application in a manufacturing and/or shop floor environment.
• Assembly or Machining process experience including practical application in a manufacturing and/or shop floor environment.
• Flexibility to work overtime and/or support weekend, temporary evening shift, and holidays as needed, including shutdown periods.
• Ability to travel domestic and internationally.
• Valid driver’s license.

Added Bonus If You Have

• Toyota Unit Plant experience
• Experience in project management, including leading projects, managing milestones, meeting targets, and reporting out to all levels of the company
• Production Machining Line Experience
• Working Knowledge of tooling such as coatings, geometries, tool selection, & applications
• Programming and Networking experience such as Java, Python, or SQL
