What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner, Mechanical HNO position at TPC Group?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The basic function of this role within the work process is to maintain a backlog of planned job packages for both routine and shutdown rotating equipment repair work and improvement projects based on priorities established by the production maintenance coordinator. The job packages must fully satisfy the work request scope and include all material, services, resources and appropriate scheduling logic between individual tasks. This position must ensure that sufficient amount of work is planned to satisfy production needs as well as the available man-hour capacity. Recurring jobs are to be archived for re-use and updated for ongoing improvement based on craft feedback and field audits.
Under broad direction, responsibilities include:
- Responsible for planning all types of rotating equipment maintenance work order requests, including job step analysis, manpower planning, material requisitioning.
- Creates Work Orders from Work Order Requests, analyzes and plans resources, materials, and outside service requirements.
- Orders and schedules internal / external materials and services to satisfy work requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining a sufficient backlog of planned routine and shutdown work for his assigned areas.
- Participating in the management of work orders and work order backlog by:
- Reviewing backlog and planning list for duplicates
- Grouping work orders together that can be planned and worked as a single order that optimizes utilization of resources
- Ensuring plans are in place that meet the timing requirements of the process units
- Checking for understanding of scope through work order reviews and field walk throughs.
- Reviewing work orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensuring that work order type and maintenance craft assignments are accurately assigned on the order.
- Using or creating job plans lists for repetitive jobs.
- Using and modifying BOM's where appropriate.
- Reviewing work orders for content and accuracy and returning deficient work orders to the PMC with feedback on requirements not met
- Building or copying the job plan that clearly shows:
- the special instructions and required documentation such as MOC information, QAQC needs, etc…,
- required skill crafts and duration,
- specialty tools, equipment,
- optimal scheduling logic between tasks,
- a task for repairables to ensure timely repair and return to inventory, where necessary,
- Inventory request or purchase order for necessary components. Building job package to include all necessary information for safe and efficient completion by the crafts including the job plan, feedback forms, P&ID’s,
- Participating in bidding process and requisitioning for third party services.
- Solicit constructability input or field planning support of crafts to develop the most efficient and safe job plans
- Collaborate with other planners across TPC to leverage experience in developing the most effective job plans
- Soliciting feedback on executed jobs plans and making any necessary changes to saved job plans ensure planning and work efficiencies continue to improve.
- Available to assist with supervising maintenance activities during turnarounds and outages throughout the plant.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Petrochemical/Refining Industry Maintenance
- Experience in planning maintenance and all types of Rotating Equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Planning maintenance or construction activities for a Petrochemical/Refining facility
- Experience and knowledge of all types of Rotating Equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.
- Problem solving, communication, organization, and general computer skills are a must.
- Proficiency in Oracle eAM Module and Maximo is a plus.
