Fitness Specialist

TPC Sawgrass, located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, is the birthplace of the TPC Network and the backdrop to PGA TOUR headquarters. The Fitness Specialist is primarily responsible for knowing how the body functions during the golf swing. Supports the Golf Instructors of the Performance Center by assisting members and guests with golf specific fitness assessments and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and professional fitness practices and procedures as would be acquired through one to two years of similar professional golf specific fitness in progressively responsible positions
• Working knowledge of golf course operations and practices necessary
• Previous golf specific fitness teaching preferred
•  Preferred TPI Certified
• Preferred CPR and AED Certified

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Ensure that all members and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner
• Maintain a high profile with membership and guests. Positively promote the service philosophy of the club and PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc
• Provide golf specific assessments and programs as needed or communicated by the Director of Instruction
• Assist with the planning, promotion and execution of golf specific fitness programs for the members and guests - competitive and development for all ages, gender and skill
• Maintain accurate and updated profiles of all students; assist with interview of all new students to acquire vital information for developing an assessment or program. Solicit appropriate student feedback about programs and overall experience
• Ensure fitness contributes to member communications. Maintain website and social media sources for promoting activities, registration and member recognition as needed
• Assists with maintaining efficient accounting standards using generally accepted accounting procedures and PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc., policies and procedures
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports that itemize all instruction provided and proper accountability for fees collected
• ·Ensure that daily standards and desired presentations for personal assessments and group programs are consistently performed
• Answer telephone, schedule future instructional times, and communicate information in a pleasant and professional manner
• Maintain a team concept and recommend and support all aspects of the Performance Center
• Must stay up to date on current technology used in the industry.
• Must be able to proficiently operate all technology systems used at the Performance Center
• Ensure that the operation is operated in a safe and secure manner
• Special projects or other duties as assigned

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; kneel; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
