TPC Sugarloafs featured 18 holes, The Stables and The Meadows, are accented by tree-lined Zoysia fairways, Bermuda grass greens, streams, lakes, and hills.

This position is primarily responsible for developing and implementing tennis programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent education, Bachelor's degree in Sports Management or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
- Advanced knowledge of tennis court protocol, rules and regulations and at least four years previous tennis teaching experience
- Certified through the USPTA (Level P-2 or Higher) or PTR (Level Instructor or higher)
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
- Develop, coordinate and conduct regularly scheduled programs for the members for social, competitive and instructional program for all ages, gender and skill levels that might include : leagues, exhibitions, inter / intra-club events, camps, charity and community-based events
- Develop promotional materials to communicate the programs to the members and guests as needed
- Coordinate with other club departments for event services, such as Food & Beverage. Confirm all final guarantees and communicates any changes
- Develop program and tournament set-up including :
- Pairings
- Levels
- Rules sheets
- Welcome announcements
- Scoring and prize / gift certificate programs
- Final billing invoices and charges
- Assist in all aspects of management of employees, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training all tennis shop and tennis operations staff utilizing standard company procedures.
Make staffing, disciplinary, and compensation recommendations to department head
- Assume management responsibility in the Tennis Shop during the peak periods ensuring service standards are maintained. Ensure that all members and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner
- Ensure that all preventative maintenance and tennis court repairs are completed on a timely basis and that all courts are maintained in accordance with club standards.
Ensure checklists are updated and completed
- Teach lessons, clinics and team practice sessions as needed
- Ensure members are properly leveled according to league standards; adjust member levels as needed
- Assist Director of Tennis Operations with labor management and cost controls by planning for and scheduling labor
- Assist the Director of Tennis Operations with the development of the tennis operations budget, the annual tennis shop operating budget, and manage respective line items in accordance with budgets while controlling general expenses for the entire tennis operation
- Oversees tennis racket repair and restringing area. Ensure adequate supply inventory and proper member billing for repairs
- Write articles for the club newsletter concerning league deadlines, member activities, and league play results or other tennis information, in addition to facilitating ongoing member communication through the use of e-mail and printed materials
- Assist with maintaining purchase order system, ordering, and receiving program to ensure proper quantity and price on all purchases.
Assist with physical inventories as prescribed by PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc
- Maintain a high profile with membership and guests. Positively promote the service philosophy of the club and PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc
- Market the club against the local competition. Conduct local area surveys and evaluate information to ensure club position in the local market.
Adjust group sales offerings as needed
Verify the accuracy of prices for state and federal taxes and other charges on all sales tickets and accurately operate the Point of Sale (P.
O.S.) system. Handle and count cash, make accurate change, record credit cards and member charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures
- Assist in the development of standards and maintain responsibility for cleanliness and appearance of tennis shop, storage area and merchandise displays
- Professionally communicate information, sell merchandise, and become fully knowledgeable in all products and sales techniques.
Anticipate the needs of members and guests and offer appropriate merchandise alternatives
- Answer telephone, schedule future court reservation times, and communicate information in a pleasant and professional manner
- Open and close the tennis business operations and facilities using established standard operating procedures
- Special projects or other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and / or lift items with awkward weights.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
