What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at TPC Wire & Cable Corp.?
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate activities of Maintenance technician and provide him/her with assistance when/where needed.
- Establish and assist in the development of sustainability policies and objectives. Develop these policies based on industry best practices.
- Lead or assist in the purchase of new equipment (capital expenditures) to be used on or in the facility.
- Lead, manage and advance the TPC Safety committee’s functionality and objectives.
- Adhere to and provide a safe working environment for staff.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and outward appearance of the facility (inside and out).
- Coordinate any facility or safety testing, training, or inspections.
- Work with other TPC leaders to assist in the maintenance of other facilities.
- Serve as main point of contact with landlord.
Key Challenges
- Requires discretionary judgment, deductive reasoning, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Being able to adjust to changing demands of internal and external customers.
- Maintain high customer service levels.
- Negotiate with contractors for PM, repair, and improvement work.
- Act as point of contact for contractors during construction/expansion projects.
- Assist with the resolution of daily problems and issues affecting the warehouse, customer service, finance, and purchasing.
- Maintain the safety of staff and appearance of the warehouse and office facilities.
- Comply with ISO requirements.
- Develop environmental health & safety procedures.
- Develop and drive sustainability initiatives.
- Respond to and coordinate resolutions to facility issues (office, warehouse, and manufacturing).
Qualifications
- Two to three years’ supervisory experience.
- Familiarity and use of 5S strategies a plus. q Good communication and organizational skills. q Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- ISO-90001 procedural/process knowledge a plus.
- Requires good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in managing a variety of priorities.
- Problem solving ability.
- Experience in dealing directly with outside contractors and project managers.
- Experience with and ability to work alongside maintenance tech if necessary.
- Ability to relate to all departments inside and outside.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
