POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President of Accounting will provide leadership and oversight of the Accounting function for our Operations Headquarters. The position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. We are looking for a leader that takes a hands-on leadership approach to the management of a team with a focus on team development. Additional responsibilities vital to the role include:
- Treasury Management including implementing, directing, and maintaining all Treasury activities
- Merchant Processing including establishing, directing, and maintaining all processing activities
- Licenses and Permits including establishing, directing, and maintaining ongoing licensing, permit registration renewal, and application processing ensuring regulatory compliance and proper execution
- M3 (accounting software) administration including the setup and maintenance of hotels in the portfolio, design financials as needed, PMS and POS mapping, history mapping and upload, and user access maintenance
- Accounting Leadership and Oversight including responsibility for the direct management of all accounting and financial functions at our Operations Headquarters including leading, directing, and managing Regional Directors of Finance, Group Controllers and Accounts Payable Manager with indirect management of all members of the Operations HQ accounting team.

- Possess the knowledge and ability to lead, train and direct a high-performing accounting team with a focus on mentoring, developing, and motivating
- Be able to effectively understand and evaluate complex information and data for various sources to meet targeted objectives
- Effectively handle obstacles including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving as necessary
- Successfully direct multiple complex project work streams to successful completion
- Possess the ability to make decisions regarding compliance with GAAP and Uniform System of Accounts for the lodging industry
- Possess excellent organizational skills to effectively coordinate the on-boarding of newly managed hotel entities for all aspects of the accounting function, including all financial services

- Consult with appropriate resources, both internal and external, to ensure new accounting issues, transactions, and agreements are analyzed and understood from an accounting standpoint
- Continue to move the organization forward through the use of technology, systems, and tools to become more efficient
- Ability to support internal training programs to grow, develop and fill the gaps for the accounting team including developing staffing plans
- Ensure documented training programs are in place and updated for the hotel operations teams in areas related to financial reports, internal controls, standard operating procedures, expense controls, and payroll
- Be highly self-motivated with a desire to want to understand and grow beyond the immediate areas of responsibility
- Possess a deep knowledge and understanding of all aspects of hotel and accounting operations
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel when needed
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Prior hospitality experience required in a high-level position in Finance/Accounting
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in accounting or related field required
- Ten (10) plus years of accounting/finance experience with a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a leadership role
- Knowledge of financial systems and reporting required; experience with M3 preferred
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge and understanding of PMS and POS systems
