Overview
General Purpose:
The Manager, FP&A Revenue Planning primary function is to analyze and interpret operational reporting data, compare to budget expectations and interpret the trends in terms of overall company performance. The Manager will also support the financial planning team with annual budget and financial outlook planning. Reports to (Supervisor/Manager):
Works under the supervision of the VP, Finance Direct Reports:
May supervise financial analysts and/or lead them in special projects / analyses
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage the corporate revenue planning process including understanding and analysis of actual trends, organizing the corporate effort to set sales targets, determine product mix expectations, and plan for the expectations for all other drivers of revenue.
• Support the VP of Finance in driving the financial planning of the UCx, MSx and Managed Connectivity lines of business including operating metrics, revenues, COGS, SG&A and capex planning.
• Partner with and support the UCx, MSx and Managed Connectivity line of business leaders in crafting the strategy and driving the execution of the strategy for these lines of business.
• Learn all aspects of TPx’s operational processes to support corporate financial reporting and operational metrics analysis.
• Organize data from various sources into comprehensive excel documents for analysis.
• Analyze financial data and recent trends to determine present operational performance.
• Develop reports for financial reporting on products, access method, bandwidth, third party vendors, locations and other various revenues and associated costs.
• Establish and maintain database of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts.
• Work with operational reporting, finance, and business leaders to determine the appropriate metrics and data to report to better understand the business in a constantly changing business environment.
• Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to existing processes to enhance alignment and increase reporting accuracy.
• Present detailed presentations on the corporate revenue plan, UCx & MSx lines of business profit and loss statements and related strategic issues for a senior management and board of representatives.
• Develop an understanding of TPx’s network infrastructure; and recommend strategic alternatives that will benefit the business from a revenue growth and margin expansion perspective.
Peripheral Duties:
• May be required to support other finance activities as business needs dictate.
• Support the annual audit process on an as needed basis.
• Support/Manage ad hoc projects on an as needed basis.
• Maintain positive working relationships and be willing to collaborate with all employees and managers within Finance and other departments. Desired Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in revenue and business analysis required.
• Seven (7) years of work experience in a corporate environment preferred.
• Five (5) years of work experience in a technology-based environment a plus.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to think critically and strong intellectual curiosity is a must
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
• Certification in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint highly desired
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Understanding of Managed Services, Telecommunication, and/or SAAS models is highly desired
• Must be trustworthy and able to handle/maintain confidential information
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple and varying projects/tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to observe and explain trends in large data sets
• Ability to multi-task in a highly fast-paced environment
• Must have the ability to regularly communicate in a manner that is respectful, professional and collaborative
Special Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment such as a technology startup, investment bank, or consulting firm. Telecommunications experience is a plus. • Will be required to have a flexible work schedule as may be required to work longer than 8 hours per day.
