Instructional Designer II

About the Role                                                         

The Instructional Designer (ID) II will rely on a strong understanding of adult learning theory to design and build effective training programs in various digital and facilitator-led formats. They will own digital learning content development for Uber Freight (UF), including eLearning, videos, microlearning, etc. They will collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to facilitate needs assessments, design conversations, creation of content and programming, and oversee hand-off to UF Training Specialist for facilitation. The ID will seek creative ways to bring learning to the organization. The ID will use their knowledge of business needs, adult learning theory, learner user experience, and intended outcomes to design high-impact training.

What the Candidate Will Do                                                             

• Design and create exceptional training materials to support a variety of delivery types, including self-paced, mobile, video, podcast, webinar and facilitator-led
• Develop new learning experiences that engage and excite Uber Freight employees
• Write elegant, clear, concise, and persuasive communications copy that engages and inspires learners
• Scope, design, and develop learning products, including assets and assessments, to support a variety of delivery types, including self-paced, mobile, video, podcast, webinar, and leader-led, focusing on digital and blended content creation
• Establish and maintain standards and processes to produce content deliverables
• Create briefs and collaborate with business and L&D program stakeholders, ensuring content reflects the needs and requirements
• Find new ways to produce content that scales - touching and inspiring employees at Uber Freight
• Simplify complex issues and develop clear scripts and storyboards for instructional videos and/or interactive courses
• Be an administrative-level user of Uber Freight’s learning management system and digital adoption platform
• Maintain and manage content per established audit and organization standards                                                                                                

Basic Qualifications                                                

• Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
• 1-3 years of instructional design, learning experience design, writing, editing, and/or content management experience

Preferred Qualifications                                                           

• Ability to care for multiple projects and deliverables within tight design timelines
• Experience with learning management systems
• Experience with learning design tools (Articulate Storyline and Rise, Vyond, Visme, Camtasia, etc.)
• Experience with digital adoption platform content development
