Tradewinds Logistics is seeking a Controller to join our team! We are a long-established warehousing and transportation company headquartered in Westfield, IN with competitive pay and benefits.

In the controller role, you will work closely with our executive team to ensure they have accurate information for decision making. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, a highly motivated self-starter and possess a strong ability to problem solve. Must have the ability to work both independently and manage the accounting team. Salary is contingent on individual applicant experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain general ledger and oversee all financial transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Reconcile various internal accounts and external bank accounts
• Oversee A/R and A/P
• Work with banks and outside credit providers
• Manage and monitor leasing activities for facilities and equipment
• Manage and/or perform month-end, quarter, and annual closings.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, fixed assets and other financial data.
• Utilize strong Microsoft Excel skills for running reports and budget forecasting
• Create and maintain financial statements that conform to GAAP
• Completion of special projects, as required
• Supervise and manage direct reports
• Work with outside CPA firm

Requirements:

• At least 3 - 5 years of business accounting experience or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong aptitude for use of technology and learning new systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent oral, written communication and customer service skills
