SUMMARY
The Supply Planner, Raw Materials is responsible for developing both short- and long-term material requirement forecasts for Traditional Medicinals’ botanical ingredients and packaging. The planner will develop inventory strategies to support business targets and will be responsible for analyzing and presenting ingredient-related risks to supply chain leaders, including senior management.  This position will also provide research and analytical support to the Supply Chain Team.


In a dynamic, high-growth environment, the Supply Planner will track changes to Traditional Medicinals’ production plans and will communicate the resulting impact to the Procurement and Strategic Sourcing teams. The Supply Planner will work cross-functionally with Procurement to close supply gaps, reduce excess, and recommend mitigating action.  At regular intervals, this position will provide actionable forecasts and recommendations to the Procurement and Strategic Sourcing teams to use when contracting goods or making commitments to suppliers. 

The Supply Planner will also work cross-functionally with the broader Supply Chain team to provide operational research and analysis. This position will explore scenarios and identify optimal supply chain solutions to help support our growing business, including analysis of cycle stocks and safety stocks, MRP planning system parameters, and other topics.  This role requires a strong understanding of planning in an MRP environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manage 5-year raw material requirements forecast.
  • Monitor raw material inventory and incoming supply; recommend actions to prevent shortages or excess.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional team members to ensure that all manufacturing sites are supplied with the right ingredients at the right time.
  • Provide regular communication to ensure the supply chain team is aware of supply risks and mitigating actions.
  • Lead weekly cross-functional (Supply Chain and Operations) tactical meeting to identify and manage short-term supply gaps.
  • Provide yearly material contract recommendations (calendar year).
  • Provide yearly forecasts to build into fiscal year budget plans (fiscal year).
  • Provide yearly update to 3-year herb purchase recommendations.
  • Provide recommendations for packaging Min/Max inventory levels and participate in evaluation of vendor-managed packaging inventory.
  • Manage MRP settings for finished goods and raw materials, to ensure MRP demand signals are clean and accurate.
  • Act as subject matter expert; MRP planning.
  • Act as subject matter expert; inventory strategy.
  • Identify system weaknesses and work to improve overall system and planning functionality.
  • Identify areas of process improvement within the supply chain, operations, and manufacturing.
  • Partner in ECO (Engineering Change Order) and Discontinuation processes; maintain key modifiers in MRP master data.
  • Act as the communication hub between Planning, Procurement, Operations and Strategic Sourcing.
  • Actively participate with high performing cross functional teams to deliver supply chain goals.
  • Participate with other functional teams on key projects and company initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years’ Supply Planning / Supply Chain experience.
  • Excellence in ERP/MRP environment, preferable Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Experience planning MRP lower-level requirements.
  • Broad knowledge of supply chain & manufacturing.  CPG preferred.
  • Experience developing analytical tools to model and analyze data.
  • Highly analytical with ability to clearly articulate findings.
  • Strong excel.
  • Experience participating in, and contributing to, a high-performance collaborative culture; thrives in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate in a way that resonates with varied audience.
  • Comfortable interacting at all levels of an organization.
  • Fluid /quick to learn.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, or other pertinent field.

TRAVEL
  • Minimal travel.
OFFICE HOURS & LOCATION
  • This position is based in Rohnert Park, CA. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 – 5:00 pm. This is a hybrid role offering the flexibility to occasionally work remotely. Expected in-offices days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Subject to change.
  • The Supply Planner should expect to spend one day per week at Traditional Medicinals’ production facility in Graton, California
  • Remote candidates will not be considered for this role.

Compensation range is $79,200 - $103,950.

Compensation is determined based on non-discriminatory, business-related factors, including but not limited to, training, experience, education and/or professional certifications, geographic location, and market data.
