What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Universal Banker position at Traditions Bank?
The Senior Universal Banker serves in an advisory role to build relationships with existing/new clients by cross selling the Banks products and services and related features. Actively prospects for new clients to contribute to the team goals. This individual provides exquisite customer service and processes teller transactions accurately and efficiently while ensuring branch operational procedures, security and audits are performed in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
DUTIES
- Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Banks products and services along with related features and benefits.
- Refers and originates Deposit Accounts and Consumer Loan products based on the clients needs.
- Maintains an active prospect list and participates in proactive business development.
- Initiates actions to expand current client relationships and proactively develops new relationships.
- Proactively gathers and records client data to use in current and future relationship building through utilization of the internal CRM system.
- Thoroughly understands the Banks primary target markets and bases proactive sales behaviors on developing these relationships using all the tools provided.
- Identifies referral opportunities for residential mortgages, investment management, merchant services, business loans and credit card products.
- Actively participates in branch relationship building and initiatives.
- Responsible for processing teller transactions in an accurate, efficient, and customer-focused manner.
- Uses interpersonal and leadership skills to coach and influence the service and sales behaviors of Universal Bankers in order to meet team goals.
- Serves as backup to the Branch Manager in their absence and coordinates daily branch activities.
- Follows the Traditions Bank sales process, including greeting clients promptly and delivering exquisite, responsive service.
- Answers and screens phone calls.
- Handles routine customer account maintenance and other servicing issues. Answers general questions and routine research requests.
- Keeps branch staff informed about new client relationships and provides relationship building assistance.
- Assists with routine administrative duties for the branch.
- Participates in the training and mentoring of newly hired Universal Bankers.
- Leads Universal Bankers to build brand awareness of Traditions Bank and its Value Proposition by striving to exhibit the Banks INVESTED service standards at all times.
- Completes all branch audits and compliance related tasks in a timely and efficient manner to ensure branch security.
- Responsible for branch scheduling to ensure sufficient coverage to maintain exquisite service levels.
EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent is required
EXPERIENCE
- Five years of banking experience in relationship management and the ability to analyze client needs and match appropriate products is required.
- Consumer lending experience required
LICENSE - Must currently have or be able to secure and maintain a registration ID number with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) as well as core operating systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as presentation skills.
- Must be able to establish rapport when handling clients in person or on the phone.
- Strong ability to apply independent judgment and discretion.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Proven record of leading sales efforts of a team and personally contributing to sales goals.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective presentation and influencing skills.
- Requires a high level of tact and integrity due to the regular exposure to confidential data.

Responsible for understanding the Banks compliance policies as it relates to the specific individual job duties and following the provisions of such policies, specifically understanding that any violation of such policies must be reported to the Director of Regulatory Services immediately.
