What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Estimator position at Traffic Management Inc.?
Overview
As a Senior Estimator, you will provide project estimates of varying sizes and complexities to support company growth and profitability. Additionally, foster and sustain positive relationships with our customers, agencies, and internal departments with whom we collaborate.
Responsibilities
- Complete estimates for any potential new project independently.
- Partner with Project Managers and Sales department to identify & prospect new clients.
- Attend job‐walks, site inspections, agency meetings, etc.
- Review and analyze various construction drawings.
- Complete multi-phase renderings of complex construction activities / traffic control closures for engineering purposes.
- Review purchase orders, contracts, LOIs, etc. for accuracy and to limit potential liability.
- Review Project Labor Agreements to ensure project is estimated correctly.
- Analyze and plan out customer’s traffic control needs.
- Coordinate with other departments for logistics and manpower/equipment availability.
- Complete estimates accurately and within a timely fashion.
- Perform regular follow-ups with customers.
- Perform equipment take-offs from traffic control plans.
- Regularly update the customer on estimate progress.
- Address any changes in scope as well as the related cost impacts to the customer.
- Coordinate with Project Management team to stay up to date on ongoing jobs.
- Coordinate with Dept. Trainer / Lead Estimator to implement new region-specific training.
- Partner with team to review estimates, orders, and billing to ensure quality information.
- Assist / train team members as needed with region specific estimates.
- Ensure RFQ/estimate statuses are changed routinely.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Working knowledge of many construction related activities or traffic control
- Estimating experience in relevant or similar field
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Working knowledge of Google Earth and Adobe programs
- Ability to work well with others as a team to maintain a positive work environment.
- Excellent multi‐tasking and prioritization abilities

- Excellent communication with both verbal and writing skills

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
- Vehicles (Trucks/Cars) of various sizes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Requires remaining in the seated position for prolonged periods of time
- Requires being outside and exposed to environmental conditions at times
- Requires being in construction environment
- Requires repetitive movement
- Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment and moving vehicular traffic
- Exposure to reasonable noise levels
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years minimum of related experience in construction industry preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
PAY:
The annual wage range for candidates is $85,000 to $95,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type, and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. Traffic Management, Inc. is a multi-state employer and this hourly range may not reflect positions in other states.
