What are the responsibilities and job description for the INSPECTOR PORT MAINTENANCE position at Trailer Bridge?
Summary:
As a Port Maintenance Inspector, you will have the opportunity to develop a successful and energetic career and be given the tools and training to “Make it Happen”.
You will be primarily responsible for inspection and control of empty equipment at Port and facilitating the movement of equipment for repairs.
Essential Functions:
- Inspect equipment condition and tag for necessary repair level and guidance, including specifying repair levels and guidance for repair locations (e.g., Port NB main shop, outside shops).
- Provide daily reports on empty equipment, indicating which equipment can be assigned to drivers and which require repairs
- Manage the control of the empty lot and work with the union to keep empties lot organized
- Inspect loaded equipment as needed for dispatch
- Provide chassis inventory as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in container and chassis maintenance and repair procedures
- IICL qualified Preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with union representatives and other team members
