Application Support Engineer
London Office | Hybrid Working | Full-Time Role
About the Role
We are looking for a Application Support Engineer to join our growing London office. This role will sit in the Trailstone App Support team, supporting our entire business applications
This will be a full-time role, owning the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve all system issues including custom in-house software and vendor solutions.
- Effectively record and monitor progress of all issues raised, providing feedback to the business users as required.
- Liaise with internal and external IT teams to resolve cross system issues.
- Ensure that best practices are applied to system support, upgrades, testing and procedures at all times.
- Manage cases, requests and enhancements using existing tools and processes.
- Ensure that solution and application support documentation is maintained to the highest quality and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Proactive, pragmatic problem solver with a strong bias for action.
- Be accountable and own issues through to resolution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage in effective, direct communication across different levels of seniority with colleagues
globally (for example, trading desks and development team members).A positive, team-oriented mindset, and a passion for mentoring and sharing knowledge.
- Able to adapt skillset to varying tasks, demonstrate flexibility, and assimilate knowledge quickly.
- Domain knowledge in finance or energy business sector is preferred but not essential.
Technical Skills:
- Substantiated working experience working using Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot scripts/applications in different languages such as .Net, C#, Python, VBA etc.
- Proven ability to understand business environment and processes.
- Proven ability to provide workaround resolutions, root cause analysis and major incident management.
- Fluent English language skills.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
