Simulation Analyst

Training Technologies and Support, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Simulation Analyst to support our government customer in Ft. Leavenworth, KS.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assemble, set up, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot software, classroom projectors, and AV systems used for virtual staff rides. Software includes, but is not limited to, Meta VR VRSG, VBS3, and Maya.
• Prior to each Virtual Staff Ride, you will rehearse alongside the Historian delivering the staff ride.
• Ensure system availability and operate system in support up of up to 45 virtual staff rides a year that are greater than four hours in duration, up to twenty individually tailored virtual staff ride demonstrations approximately one hour in duration, and up to twelve virtual staff rides a year for the command preparation approximately two hours in duration.
• Leverage VSR software to maintain, update, and improve existing virtual terrain databases IAW technological advances and new historical scholarship.
• Use geospatial data from a variety of sources to perform 3D modeling of structures and generate 3D terrain databases in support of present and future government used formats.
• Create, update, and revise terrain for existing and new virtual staff ride scenarios. This requires the ability to build a 3D visual of both natural and manmade terrain. Once built, human atmospherics and scenario specific patterns of life will be introduced.
• Provide recommendations for maintaining virtual reality support currency; stay current in relevant software and aware of opportunities for inclusion of new technologies as they are released.
• Provide technical assistance to field units seeking to run their own virtual staff rides; assist in the troubleshooting of units’ hardware and software to help them deliver their own VSR.
• Provide inputs to a monthly status report on the work accomplished by the simulations team.

Required Qualifications:

• Must possess or have the ability to gain a SECRET clearance
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in 3D Gaming Modeling or a related field. In lieu of a degree, may have three (3 ) years of experience in 3D Modeling Requirements and/or Animation.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience in simulations or 3D animation is preferred.
• Must be proficient in the use of multiple software systems, including, but not limited to Autodesk Maya, VBS3, Power Point, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Substance Texture 3D, and Blue Marble Global Mapper
• Must have experience modelling high and low poly assets for real-time game development
• Must be proficient in UV unwrapping, layout, and creation of textures
• Must be able to create high fidelity realistic environments and landscapes
• Must be knowledgeable about gaming engines, specifically Bohemia Interactive Virtual Battlespace 3 and the VBS3 development toolkit, and Unity or Unreal.
• Must be able to follow given folder and file naming structures for projects
• Must possess understanding of basic video files and extensions.
• Must demonstrate a working proficiency of MS Office and Windows; scope of position requires a mastery of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Must be proficient in the operation of equipment typically found in an office environment, this includes classroom projectors and AV Systems
• Must possess strong communication skills in order to be effective during production/management meetings and to ensure that project goals are defined and met.
• Must possess strong time management skills and analytical skills.
• Must be physically able to travel and to work within a variety of settings.
