Job Description Summary This Actuarial Development Program position provides rotations every few years across many different actuarial functions, including valuation, projections, pricing, experience studies, and risk. Positions may be in any of Transamerica’s product lines, including life, annuities, health, and retirement plans. Job Description Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary by rotations but may including any of the following: Calculate profit studies, net premiums, reserves and/or non-forfeiture values of new and existing plans of insurance or similar calculations. Run pricing and asset/liability models; reviews and verifies results for reasonableness. Develop, calculate and verify policy values or similar actuarial values. Develop, extend and maintain profit studies, non-forfeiture values, reserve programs, rate files, procedures and/or similar processes. Assist in preparing actuarial portion of financial reports or other documents (e.g. state insurance department filings, rating agency survey forms, internal management reports, etc.). Communicate actuarial research results to product management areas and possibly other departments. Provide consultation and clarification on actuarial models, risk issues or other actuarial items. Maintain documentation of actuarial research and analyses. May coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses to assist in the development of rates and pricing strategies. May supervise one or more Actuarial Analysts, Actuarial Students or Actuarial Technicians. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field Two years of relevant work experience Completion of five actuarial exams and an active participant in the Actuarial Student Program, taking additional exams towards FSA Advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to interpret complex data Communication skills, verbally and in writing Work well under pressure and within time constraints to accomplish individual and team objectives Organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel Preferred Qualifications Programming skills Working Conditions Office or hybrid office/remote environment Occasional travel What We Offer For eligible employees, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support both the personal and financial well-being of our employees.
