Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Purchases materials, supplies, parts or components· Obtains competitive bids · Reviews and analyzes price quotations · Develops appropriate correspondence and records · Coordinates purchase requirements with operating departments · May Expedite the delivery of critical equipment and/or material · Reviews requisitions · Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising, for organization by performing the following duties · Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule · May select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items · Estimates values according to knowledge of market price · Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid · Prepares purchase orders or bid requests · Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality, or performance · Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action · May approve invoices for payment · Provide information to the appropriate departments regarding supply issues for product · May expedite delivery of goods

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience· Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Mathematical Skills· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals· Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, and percentages· Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference
Reasoning Ability· Capable of Solving practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists· Can interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Computer Skills· Have knowledge of Internet software; A Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, Excel
