TransCore-Amtech Systems (AMS) , a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Hardware Engineer II to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Job Summary: The Hardware Engineer II designs, develops and integrates hardware and systems level solutions for TransCore products that interface and interact with other TransCore systems and third party components. Coordinates with team members to define system objectives and prepare system design specifications to meet user requirements and to satisfy interface requirements. Reviews work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and user standards, and progress in accordance with schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Creates hardware design solutions such as digital circuit design, firmware applications, microprocessor-based board level design, robotics control, printed circuit board layout, digital signal processing, or real time embedded multiprocessor design.
- Oversees engineering life cycle of hardware products including architecture, design, and implementation.
- Confers with product marketing on writing of functional specifications.
- Designs product solutions and features using a hardware description language.
- Manages all schematic entry.
- Maintains relationships with vendors and orders necessary parts.
- Makes modifications to product lines as necessary.
- Works closely with quality assurance in identifying bugs and building fixes.
- Measures project percentage completion at critical stages and implements corrective action as necessary.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Experience with repair and troubleshooting (systems and equipment)
- Must have hardware interfacing skills
- Must have strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Experience with digital and analog design
- Configuration skills (hardware, software, network, etc)
Desired Skills:
- Experience with hardware design
- Ansys HFSS
- PADS Designer
Education: Bachelor Science (BSEE) required
