Job Purpose: | This position is responsible for coordinating client contract required service levels to provide quality customer transportation services. |
Major Responsibilities: List in order of importance | 1) | Oversee daily service needs and assigns appropriate levels of operator and vehicle. |
2) | Provide support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer service and operators, to include answering main telephone switchboard and company email correspondence. |
| 3) | Coordinate emergency situations for vehicle operators by notifying Road Supervisor on duty and Management. Provide coordination for driver and/or vehicle replacement. |
4) | Monitor and track daily operator attendance to ensure appropriate staffing levels and compliance with operator CBA. |
| 5) | Clearly communicate job requirements and responsibilities to operators. |
6) | Determine operator fit for duty status to include assurance of proper licensure and compliance with FTA drug and alcohol regulations pertaining to reasonable suspicion testing. |
| 7) | Liaison between drivers and both clients and organization in customer service issues. |
8) | Assist in driving and miscellaneous clerical tasks as needed to include recording employee payroll and attendance information, and other service related needs. |
| 9) | Meet and maintain all driver qualifications at location. |
10) | Additional duties as assigned to include operate revenue route or other tasks. |
List examples of common, everyday decisions made: | Assure correct driver to service level daily requirements on all service days and holiday. Determine operator attendance. Determine vehicle assignment. Determine operator fitness for duty status. Ensure on time route pull out performance. Coordinate with drivers on company and client contract memo or information requirements. Coordinate with drivers on any incident report or follow up needed. |
Minimum Education & Certifications Required: | - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain current location specific qualifications.
- Possess a valid DOT medical certification

Experience & Skills Required: | - Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including drivers, location staff, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials and general public; fluent in English.
- Work extended hours regularly, including weekends and holidays as required by client contract.
- Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions (include amount of travel): | - Typical office environment, transit facilities, maintenance facilities and transit vehicles.
- Physically fit to board transit vehicles and inspect both vehicles and facilities as needed.
- Ability to verbally communicate with passengers and dispatchers/road supervisors including use of a 2-way radio and PA system.
- Possess excellent or corrected vision to allow operator to have the ability to read and comprehend written material. Must have good depth perception, peripheral vision, distance vision, and color perception as is required to drive a motorized vehicle.
- Possess a full range of sense of hearing, including tone, pitch, and volume when operating transit vehicle, using 2-way radio, and assisting passengers and public.
- Must have good manual dexterity in order to perform the basic functions of the MDT keypad. Required to reach, grasp, and use multiple objects which include but are not limited to: a 2-way radio, door control, PA microphone, steering wheel, wheelchair lift control, and bus door control.
- Required to sit while operating vehicle approximately 75% of the work day. The remaining 25% of the day will require the operator to move both in the internal and exterior perimeters of the bus, including a pre-trip inspection of the vehicle by walking around and through the vehicle.
- Ability to push/pull tension of at least 50 pounds and ability to bend and stoop/kneel to assist passengers boarding and securing in wheelchair/scooters and/or to retrieve equipment. Twist at the knee and waist when operating vehicle, performing vehicle inspections, and securing wheelchairs. Reach forward, rearward, upward, and downward when operating vehicle, performing vehicle inspections, and securing wheelchairs.
- Subject to wet, cold, and/or hot environmental conditions.
- Subject to a low risk of injury due to vehicle accident, mechanical failure, fire, and/or explosion.
- Subject to vehicle noise and vibration while operating transit vehicle.
- Subject to vehicle exhaust fumes and odors, road dusts, and mist.
