What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Director position at TRANSFORMATION CHURCH?
Primary Purpose of Position:
The Production Director at Transformation Church oversees all elements connected to the Weekend Service, Events and AVL management, as well as leads and pastors production staff and volunteers.

Hand (Expectations Duties):
Oversight of Department
- Receive, cast and translate vision and share effectively to a multi-generational, multicultural, and multi-ethnic body
- Annually oversees the development of the departmental goals and objectives
- Consistent assessment of teams, projects and programs to ensure effectiveness of department
- Leads team in the development of infrastructure to ensure the existence of both ground and global impact
- Oversee all technical production elements related to worship services and events
- Manage Planning Center service plans, ensuring all production details are noted and communicated clearly
- Participate in the planning of church services, programs, and events
- Oversee designs, installations and maintenance requirements for AVL systems church-wide
- Develop and implement systems and procedures related to AVL requests
- Work with departments to advise and provide tech needs for events and programs
- Coordinate the purchase, maintenance, operation and orderly storage of all AVL equipment
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory
- Train and equip both staff and volunteers to ensure successful operation of equipment
- Recruit, train, schedule and shepherd production volunteers
- Assess future tech needs and work with Creative Director/Pastor to implement purchase timelines
- Oversee preparation of stages for rehearsals, services and events
- All other duties assigned
Head (Knowledge Training)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional leadership experience within Audio/Visual industry and/or church live production
- Ability to lead self and others in a healthy environment that produces self-awareness along with the spiritual, emotional and professional growth
- Ability to adjust and handle multiple, high level, fast-paced projects simultaneously
- Exceptional tact and discretion with confidential information
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Sufficiently competent and skillful in technology (i.e. email, documents, presentations)
- Expert knowledge of media, audio, video and lighting in the context of live production
- Operational knowledge of professional mixing consoles and familiarity with personal monitoring
- Detailed knowledge of lighting equipment including DMX and Jans Vista
- Highly tech-savvy, able to learn and master new technology quickly and thoroughly
- Expert knowledge of AVL signal flows and strong ability to troubleshoot in all of these
- Ability to train and develop volunteers on equipment
- Ability to resolve conflict in calming manner
Strategic Leadership
- Lead major division-wide and department wide projects by facilitating cross-departmental/team workspaces, from conception to post-project debriefs
- Leads creation of agenda and discussion of department-wide (monthly) and Team Director meetings (weekly)
- Helps the Team Directors (TD) and their teams understand and carry out vision and strategic direction
- Tracks strategic initiatives and major projects by monitoring progress towards meeting goals, analyzing data, ensuring follow-through and sustaining momentum needed to drive these initiatives
- Oversees department budget and stewardship of finances
Leadership Development
- Provide support, encouragement, and coaching in the development and nurturing of TDs
- Lead weekly team meetings (1:1 or group settings) in a timely fashion, with agenda in mind to include major announcements/updates and leadership development training
- Oversees the staffing, development, evaluation, and education of TDs
- Quarterly reviews for all direct reports, including occasional Mile Markers, Performance Improvement Plans, and Corrective Action
