TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is currently seeking a Systems Support Specialist in Menlo Park, CA. TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is a growing company with a great work environment dedicated to the railroad industry. Systems Support Specialist will perform duties associated with communicating with train crew members, maintenance personnel, and other support staff to perform troubleshooting on PTC (Positive Train Control) systems, signal and communications networks, generating trouble tickets, dispatching resources, tracking issues until resolved, escalation of complex system issues, and generating reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Must possess a good understanding of computer operating systems.
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Effectively receive incoming requests for support by radio, phone, and email.
- Prioritize work, including support tickets and phone calls.
- Input, via computer, accurate customer information.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Deal with stressful situations with poise and professionalism, including de-escalation of calls, as needed.
- Immediately notify management of unusual occurrences or of calls requiring escalation.
- Efficiently use communications technology including phone, radio, support ticket system, email, etc.
- Maintain flexibility and resilience towards change.
- Ability to work variable shifts.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Customer service or call center experience preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience working on information systems, IT networks, or railroad signaling & communications preferred
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong customer focus
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
