Position Title: Engineering Lead

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand analysis/requirements and build/update a map to successfully deliver the appropriate implementation;
- Deploy the delivered implementation to the appropriate environment - this includes maps, database setup, envelopes, and any business process changes;
- Perform unit and integration testing that verifies the delivered implementation meets the given requirements/analysis;
- Provide support for IBM/Sterling B2B Integrator setup, mapping, and business process development and graphical interfaces;
- Provide integration testing support to Operations, Customers, Third Parties, Carriers, and QA;
- Ensure adherence to the Information Exchange (IE) analysis and development standards;
- Follow IE team defined analysis and development best practices;
- Proactively identify and communicate issues, propose and implement solutions for continuous improvements in regard to the job accountabilities;
- Retain overall ownership of assigned areas of responsibility;
- Contribute to the Transplace Employee Development Process (DPM);
- Review, implement, test, support, and improve requirements presented by internal and external parties;
- Development: Understand basic coding best practices, version control, PL/SQL scripts; Higher understanding of Troubleshooting and architecture;
- Quality: Understand the basic testing process, including unit, integration, regression, defects, and rework;
- Higher understanding of the customer integration testing and rework processes;
- Deployment: Basic understanding of the production and non-production deployment process;
- Corporate Accountabilities: Know and follow Transplace core values, participate, lead, and understand the DPM Process;
- Analysis: Work with customers to perform a thorough review of the interfaces and provide documentation to the appropriate parties;
- Support: Ability to understand the different areas of support - this includes, but is not limited to Carriers, Customer, Transplace Operations, Sales, and Infrastructure;
- Environment: Basic understanding on how to create, configure, maintain, and monitor the different Transplace environments;
- Scoping: Ability to create tasks and provide scopes for change requests, strategic projects, or an initial request;
- Planning and Execution Process: Higher understanding of how to plan and manage resources, plan and schedule promotes, and train/cross-train other members of the team;
- Process: Basic to advanced understanding of the different Transplace processes;
- Provide a strong technical vision that ensures team stays current with evolving technology;
- Drive implementation of continuous technical improvements;
- Coach team members; and
- Produce high level development.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 5 years of experience in EACH of the following:
- Using IBM/Sterling B2B Integrator;
- IT programming/development;
- Map/Translation development;
- Using EDI X12 standards; and
- Integration analysis.
- Requires up to 5% domestic and/or international travel.
- Experience may be gained concurrently.
