Role Summary

The Technical Advisor Intern will assist the on duty TA to provide expertise in an advisory capacity to the railroad. In this role you will learn to build individual locomotive work plans, assist with meeting day to day short term objectives, and the other various duties required by a TA. The purpose of this internship to equip the candidates with the necessary skills and abilities to achieve full time Technical Advisor roles.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist TAs with coordinating and providing instruction on key programs and procedures related to locomotive maintenance/modifications
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to create repair opportunities in the shop and gain access to the craftsman labor force
• Wok as part of a cross functional team, driving a one team focus dedicated to customer success within the shop
• Begin to complete the Technical Level Locomotive online training courses
• Begin the Level TA OJT tasks
• Leader to navigate the technical systems, catalogs, schematics and other resources
• Gain and understanding of emission standards and emission critical components

Qualifications

• Must be a full time student enrolled in an accredited college or university Bachelors Degree program in a Technical discipline
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
• Ability and willingness to work various shifts, and various days
• Willingness and ability to work in a shop environment

Desired

• JR or SR year of Bachelors Degree in Technical discipline from an accredited college or university
