Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil & gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects.
POSITION SUMMARY
TRC is seeking a Natural Resources Project Managerto join ourPermitting, Planning and Licensing Practice in Houston, TX. This successful candidate must be passionate about their work, driven by intellectual curiosity, and strive to work collectively to best serve our clients and help create the future of our communities in meaningful and sustainable ways. The successful candidate will support development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of key permitting programs to support quality and strategic growth plans.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- The successful applicant will be involved in a wide variety of projects including oil and gas pipelines, other products pipelines, municipal, transportation, electrical transmission, and renewable energy generation and storage projects.
- Permitting projects at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Author technical reports.
- Consultation with federal and state agencies for project compliance.
- Be able to effectively coordinate field work, direct and support other technical staff, interact with clients, stakeholders, and contractors, and manage projects, budgets, invoicing, and schedules.
- Abide by Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field, and 8 to 10 years of post-degree experience.
- Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable federal regulatory agencies, including, FERC, USACE, USFWS, and EPA.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable state regulatory agencies.
- Knowledge of and ability to manage various FERC regulated projects, including preparation and management of resource reports.
- Excellent verbal communication and technical communication skills are mandatory.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules.
- The candidate must have a strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- The ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials is also required.
- Experience managing Projects and teams in Texas.
A preferred candidate will hold one or more of the following qualifications:
- Master's degree or above in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field, and over 8 years of post-degree experience.
- Certified Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS)
- Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
