What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cellar Supervisor position at Treasury Wine Estates?
TWE seeks a Cellar Supervisor. The Cellar Supervisor will execute the day to day operations of the cellar while also responsible for the safety and productivity of direct team.
Key Responsibilities include:
Safety
- Incident Reporting
- Report all relevant safety incidents as outlined by TWE HSE team
- Record all relevant safety incidents via Vintrack within 24 hours of incident occurring
- Complete rootcause analysis for all safety incidents
- Promote a safety culture amongst the team
- Advocate & champion TWE safety programs, e.g. Un Momento
- Actively engage their team and seek feedback to continuously improve overall safety
- Safety Champion role
- Embrace their role of Safety Champion
- Build out site specific safety programs to reduce incident rates
- Lead by example and demonstrate safety as a key value
People
- Active Team Management
- Proactively addressing performance or disciplinary concerns through expectation setting and progressive discipline
- On the spot coaching to recognize or correct behaviors to ensure they align with established TWE DNA
- Ability to escalate performance or disciplinary concerns to HR and manager with supporting documentation and recommended next steps
- Address employee concerns with urgency after thorough investigation
- Escalate employee relations concern to HR and partner throughout the investigation
- Ability to approach decision making with TWE DNA, fairness, and transparency as guiding principles
- Setting Expectations
- Ability to set clear expectations with his/her team regarding their behaviors and work performance
- Align team to the established expectations and provide coaching when deviated
- Team Engagement
- Foster an environment of trust, fairness, and transparency while upholding established TWE guidelines and policies
- Conducting monthly 1-1's to support career development, provide ongoing coaching/feedback, seek feedback for continuous improvements, and to ensure communications are reaching the intended audience
- Lead daily communications to ensure necessary production and people information are cascaded
- Actively seeks feedback and action on feedback provided, whether it is production/work environment/people program related
- Overall Compliance
- Partner with HR to ensure his/her team is complaint with necessary training and regulations
- Documentation
- Accurate documentation for coaching conversations, incidents, or recognition
- Ensure necessary documentations are stored on MyHR via HRAssist
- Career Development
- Leverage existing TWE training programs to build and further develop his/her capability as a supervisor
- Align with his/her manager to create a career development plan and progress towards goals set forth in the plan
- Training
- Maintain up-to-date skills matrix for his/her team
- Schedule and provide training to his/her team as necessary
- Partner with manager to coordinate training efforts
- System utilization
- Ensure his/her team's work/vacation/sick hours are correctly captured through Kronos
- Partner with team to ensure MyHR data are up-to-date
Quality
- Audit quality of the completed work order on a routine basis
Rate/Production
- System utilization
- Utilize Capacity Tool & VinoEz for production planning and record keeping purposes
- Tools
- Ensure the team has the correct tools to complete their work
- Replenish tools/parts when needed and partner with manager to establish expectations regarding tool usage
- Production rate/performance
- Actively managing the team to ensure they are meeting performance standards for work orders
- Provide any support to ensure team members are able to meet performance standards for work orders
- Ensure work orders received from the Winemaking team are clear and correct
- Continuous Improvement Champion
- Actively engage the team as a Continuous Improvement champion and implement changes as see fit
About You
- You have some a college degree or 3 - 5 years of experience in a supervisory role. You are proficient in JDE, Kronos, VinoEX and Microsoft Office. You have experience in managing hourly employees. You have experience with Winemaking and Cellar Operation. You have great leadership and mentoring skills along with the ability to work well with others inside and outside the company.
