ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Prepares for and understands the work for the day, including production occurring, incoming and outgoing shipments, appointments and priorities Prepares outbound freight using SAP, including accurately retrieving products from the warehouse or freezer and assuring accurate documentation and paperwork with products being shipped and required records being completed Wraps pallets neatly and safely and according to company standards and customer and freight carrier requirements Use FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory control methods to choose product to be shipped and to store finished product Operates equipment only as trained and certified to operate (may include stand-up and/or sit-down forklifts, baler and compactor) Receives inbound freight using SAP, notifies other staff as necessary and completes documentation as described in procedures and work instructions Inspects both inbound and outbound materials and product in receiving and shipment, including a visual inspection that includes a walk around Keeps work environment clean, safe. Performs all plant cleaning and sanitation activities on all equipment and in all departments following both safety and quality procedures, policies, and rules and in accordance with the standards, regulations and laws governing food safety, food quality and environmental safety regulations and monitors and accurately documents all work completed. This includes midweek and end of the week production cleaning Supports the implementation and monitoring of food safety and food quality standards, regulations, and laws. Notifies leaders if there are any concerns or opportunities for improvement Assure the implementation of all identified food quality and food safety standards, laws, good manufacturing practices, training and continuous improvement Primary focus of all business-related efforts are and must remain that of promoting excellence in all products Remains current in training expectations Records and documents according to procedures Maintains an understanding of the production schedule for each shift and how it influences the work to be done. As needed: Builds safe and secure boxes and secure boxes as described in procedures. Packs cases effectively and efficiently and labels appropriately as described in procedures and reports any concerns to supervisors. Palletizes cases as described in procedures and assesses codes and dates. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma Requires a minimum of two years of warehouse work experience including safe forklift operation Requires the ability to communicate fluently in English to work with customers and vendors and uses clear written and oral communication skills to complete shipping and receiving documents Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide Requires basic computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as: Word, Excel and Outlook Team player, works well with others, and communicates effectively with all associates SAP experience preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
