Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee our cannabis laboratory operations. The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the laboratory, including performing tests, communicating with customers, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining quality control standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory management, with expertise in GLP, data collection, and laboratory techniques (LC/MS/MS, LC/UV, GC/FID, PCR)

Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee daily laboratory operations, including scheduling, sample collection, and workflow coordination

- Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

- Maintain and enforce quality control standards to ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results

- Supervise laboratory staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations

- Oversee data collection, analysis, and interpretation

- Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies inventory

- Stay current with advancements in laboratory techniques and technologies to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an environmental or production laboratory setting

- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques, particularly using LC/MS/MS, LC/UV, GC/FID, PCR

- Proven experience in laboratory management, including supervising staff and overseeing operations

- Familiarity with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) regulations and compliance requirements

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.

Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive theoretical and operational job knowledge in designated specialty required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
