Description
Position Summary:
The Safety Leader facilitates and leads Treeline’s health and risk management program. They collaborate with all team leaders and team members to actively minimize risk and provide safe working conditions for all employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to developing and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Maintain personal safety and watch out for the safety of others.
- Comply with all OSHA safety guidelines.
- Communicate with team members and customers in a positive and collaborative manner.
- Communicate both effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, on the telephone, through email, and via two-way radio.
- Consistently maintain a positive and problem-solving attitude.
- Understands and adheres to Treeline’s employment handbook.
- Develop and train employees on HazCom policies.
- Develop and train employees on Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Develop and train employees on emergency action plan.
- Write, improve, and maintain job descriptions and job safety analyses for each job function.
- Perform incident investigations to determine root causes.
- Complete incident reports.
- Ensure follow-up on incidents to prevent future repeats.
- Assist with worker’s compensation, OSHA claims, and injury recovery.
- Perform facility inspections with appropriate follow-up to ensure safety performance and compliance.
- Perform inspections and visits to jobsites with appropriate follow-up to ensure safety performance and compliance.
- Attain and maintain SHARP certification.
- Perform hazard and risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Attend Forest Product Group and other related safety meetings and implement pertinent information learned there within Treeline’s safety culture.
- Lead bimonthly safety team meetings within Treeline.
- Lead safety trainings.
