Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with various HR functions, including hiring and development, talent management, and data entry. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and experience with HR software such as Workday and Kronos.
Duties:
Perform administrative processes relating to Employee Life Cycle, for example, scheduling drug screens, submitting request for background information, onboarding processes, updating system with changes, preparing paperwork for different departments.
Managing payroll, including fixing and tracking punches, vacation tracking, sick time, and time-off requests.
Ensuring compliance with Massachusetts Human Resource laws and procedures.
Assisting in finalizing an employee handbook.
Collaborating with the plant manager on safety training and compliance.
Handling all workers' compensation reports and procedures in accordance with Massachusetts law.
Completing new hire paperwork and conducting orientation sessions.
Developing and implementing administrative systems and procedures.
Performing general administrative duties.
Handling monthly expense sheets.
Assisting employees with HR and insurance inquiries or concerns.
Representing the company at job fairs and managing recruitment efforts.
Working with local schools and employment offices to promote Boston Steel available jobs
Coordinating with the head office to implement new strategies.
Organizing employee social activities such as Christmas lunch and vacation BBQs.
Ensure all electronic and paper-based personnel files are maintained accurately and filing is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Adhere to the Company Data Protection Policy and Procedure and ensure private and confidential data is processed and retained in line with the GDPR requirements.
Create & maintain safety bulletin boards and other employee communications in rest areas.
Perform other duties and work on special projects as required or assigned by the Manager
Skills:
Strong knowledge of human resources principles and practices
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with HR software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to have a positive and proactive approach, maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Actively supports and complies with company objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Director/Manager.
Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
