In addition to the Qualifications and Requirements outlined in the Trenton EMS job description, the selected candidate must:
Have a minimum; a high school diploma or equivalent;
Preferred one year or more EMS experience within an organized EMS agency providing basic life support ambulance services;
Current PA or NJ drivers license in good standing;
Current CPR certification;
Current EMT certification and eligibility to practice in NJ in accordance with State regulations.
Within one year of employment, obtain and maintain certifications in PEPP or equivalent, and PHTLS or equivalent.
Applicants must provide 3 references that can attest to skills, experience, and interpersonal skills, as follows:
Candidates must possess good verbal and written communication skills,
present a positive public image,
have a computer aptitude,
relate well to children and senior citizens,
work well with others,
able to develop public confidence and respect,
work independently,
and be self-motivated.
Candidates must also submit to a background check and substance use/abuse screening.
Selected candidates must meet minimum standards for availability as described in the TEMS Employee Handbook
