Position: Quality Technician
Department: Quality
Reports to: Quality Manager
Shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm
FLSA Status: Exempt (Hourly)
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Write and update PFMEA, PCP, and Process flows.
- Use statistical tools to identify sample size and acceptable errors; determine levels of confidence.
- Collect process capabilities by using the electronic system for data management.
- Maintain and control the gage system
- Participate in and/or lead the corrective action process.
- Complete PPAP and first article submission as required.
- Operate portable CMM and laser scanner
- Generate CMM reports with GD&T information
- Support manufacturing and hot inspection as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: Will provide statistical information for quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples. Develop and maintain PCP’s, maintain gage system and procure items needed for quality group.
Education Requirements: High school diploma / GED. Some college credits or trade schooling preferred.
Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years in a quality position in a manufacturing environment.
Skill Requirements: Must have strong technical skills; mechanical aptitude; ability to promote process improvement; support innovation; knowledge of Engineering concepts; must have ability to research root causes and cooperatively make suggestions. Basic computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; also, be able to learn / use additional software as needed. Forklift operation experience preferred.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand 75% of the time. Job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing. Must be able to lift up to 25# approximately 15 times during the day.

If the employee selects one of the HSA medical plans above, they are automatically enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA). The Company makes $500 annual contributions for employees who choose single-person medical coverage and $1000 annual contributions for coverage of 2 or more persons.
- Life Insurance Our forging company automatically pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy for each employee. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employee, up to $100,000 in employee coverage, $50,000 in spousal coverage, and $10,000 coverage per child.
- 401(k) On the first month after 60 days of employment, all employees are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan with Merrill Lynch. In profitable years, the Company may match employee contributions with discretionary bonuses to all employees currently participating in our 401(k) plan.
