Essential Functions
Rotate stock of food and beverage using FIFO guidelines in all storage areas
Accurately inspect all food, beverage, supplies and equipment
Communicate any substitutions, shortages, and product not meeting kitchen standards– in a timely manner
Ensure product is marked with correct date of service and correct department in which the item(s) will be used
Transport items to appropriate storage areas in a safe, orderly, and timely manner
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of all receiving and storage areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and
dry storage areas
Adhere to industry accepted safe food handling guidelines
Ensure items and goods received are safe, secure, and damage-free
Wash all food product before storage to ensure all items are clean, pest-free, and ready for food preparation
Collaborate with Chef and Purchasing team to ensure that all systems are followed
Collaborate with team members in a respectful and communicative way
Maintain a safe work area
Complete general cleaning duties such as floor care, and minor equipment maintenance as needed
Stock shelves of refrigerators and freezer areas
Conduct physical inventory and reports to Café Chef
Properly documents weight and waste logs
Interact with guests in a friendly, welcoming manner
Availability to work all scheduled shifts and attend required training and meetings.
Knowledge and Skills
1. Experience with receiving and invoicing
Strong knowledge of various food items (vegetables, grains, fruits, nuts, pastas, proteins, etc.)
Interpersonal and organizational skills

Ability to move throughout the service area and kitchen
Knowledge of safety and sanitation in the workplace

Slippery/uneven surfaces may be encountered
Frequently moving from cold freezer to normal kitchen environment
Requirements
Must have and maintain an active ANSI-certified California Food Handler’s Certificate
Neatly groomed and dressed in clean uniforms and appropriate PPE
Physical Demands
Some heavy lifting (may lift 10-50 lbs.) and possible moving of equipment required
Repetitive hand motion carrying food containers, using carts both loaded and unloaded
Standing, walking, bending/twisting, and balance are all required to perform job task. Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours a day
Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with
hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
As a Receiver you will work in a large, fast-paced & demanding kitchen and café environment.
