TreviPay is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Global Tax Director in our Overland Park, KS corporate headquarters. From day one, the Global Tax Director will have the ability to make an immediate impact and be responsible for developing and leading our global tax function, including ASC 740 provisions, global tax compliance, transactional due diligence/analysis and significant, meaningful domestic and global tax planning.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience with domestic and international tax compliance and strategy, including tax considerations for complex financing transactions and Mergers and Acquisitions. The role will report to the Vice President – Controller and will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other members of Executive Management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and analysis of the quarterly and annual tax provision for domestic and international operations
- Oversee the global tax compliance function and manage the global tax calendar to ensure that all federal, state, local and foreign tax returns are properly and accurately filed on a timely basis
- Effectively coordinate activities with various tax advisors, including public accounting firms, statutory reporting agencies and third-party consultants
- Develop and implement impactful tax planning strategies on both a domestic and global scale
- Support the company on all tax aspects of complex transactions, including deal structure, analysis and technical tax matters for mergers and acquisitions and divestitures, due diligence efforts, corporate restructurings, etc.
- Manage internal controls surrounding the tax function and provide recommendations for streamlining processes and activities
- Develop and manage transfer pricing documentation and analysis for global activities
- Build and manage tax team to support rapid Company growth, anticipated future SOX compliance and public company financial reporting
- Build strong working relationships with both internal management and external advisors
Qualification and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
- CPA required
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred
- 8 years of proven relevant experience with a record of career progression
- Previous experience in a tax leadership role at a publicly traded/private company or Senior Manager in a public accounting firm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven history of effective research and writing skills
- Work with a high sense of urgency and show the ability to navigate a fast-paced, rapidly changing, deadline intensive environment
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail
- Highly adaptive and quick processor of information
- Strategic but able to dive into the details and prioritize quickly and effectively
- Highly organized and skilled at multi-tasking
- Advanced Excel skills and tax/accounting research software preferred
