Crew Member/WX Worker
Starting Salary: $16.00/hour

Role:
Position is primarily responsible for the installation of weatherization materials and making energy conserving improvements and repairs to clients’ homes. The level of decision making, use of technical equipment and other responsibilities will be determined for each Worker by his/her supervisor.
Currently the Work week consist of 4, 10-hr. days per week (Mon. – Thurs.),
Days and time schedules may change to fit program needs. etc.
Currently each crew starts every workday at one of our county warehouses - Woodstock, Tamworth or Berlin. All Wx staff must agree to a criminal back-ground check.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
80% 1. Work at clients’ homes to implement conservation improvements and repairs including:
A. Insulating
B. Air sealing, caulking, foam application & weather-stripping
C. Basic masonry, drywall installation, minor carpentry projects including porch, siding, roofing, framing and other repairs
D. Venting
E. Window and door installations
F. Other conservation measures
E 10% 2. Adhere to work place health and safety practices
E 2% 3. Participate in training opportunities
E 2% 4. Be respectful of clients, practice complete confidentiality
E 1% 5. Keep supervisor appraised of anything that would interfere with daily attendance (sick, vacation, other)
E 5% 6. Other tasks as may be assigned while maintaining a positive attitude during difficult situations.
Performance Measurements:
1. 1. SUPPORT OF UNITS OBJECTIVES: PLANNING/TEAMWORK: Works with supervisor in building an effective team Objectives, talents and efforts are directed toward the needs to the crew and accomplishment of goals.
2. 2. ATTITUDE TOWARD ASSIGNMENTS: Displays interest in his/her job assignments. Accepts guidance and requests direction as needed. Does an assignment without complaining. Concerned with clients opinions regarding work being performed at their home.
3. 3. KNOWLEDGE OF DUTIES: Knows the duties and responsibilities of tasks assigned. Can recognize problems with assignments and advises supervisor. Has general understanding of related work in other trades.
4. 4. RELATIONS WITH CLIENTS: Does not antagonize clients. Knows and is responsible to client’s problems and advises supervisor as necessary. Courtesy is demonstrated with clients. Anger and verbal abuse from clients does not adversely affect performance, but informs supervisor at once
5. 5. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS AND COOPERATION WITH OTHER PERSONNEL: Valid complaints are not received from fellow employees or supervisory personnel. Problems in personal relationships with other personnel do not impair work relationship. Trains and guides less experienced personnel.
6. 6. OPERATION, MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF TCCAP EQUIPMENT: Does not abuse vehicles through poor driving habits. Specified operating and safety procedures are followed in the use and maintenance of equipment. Equipment is checked for cleanliness and serviceability. Vehicles are clean and service checks made daily. Equipment wear AND malfunctions are identified and reported.
7. 7. RESPONSE TO ASSIGNMENTS: Response is made promptly, safely and appropriately. Further action is rarely required. Assistance provided is appropriate to the need or problem.
8. 8. CONFORMANCE TO WORK SCHEDULE AND ASSIGNMENTS: Instructions are followed and assignments are completed on schedule. Work does not have to be closely supervised. Deviations from instructions and schedules are explained satisfactorily to supervisor. Unassigned time is effectively utilized.
9. 9. CONFORMANCE TO DEPARTMENT POLICIES, REGULARITY OR ATTENDANCE AND
PUNCTUALITY: Policies, rules and regulations are followed as prescribed. Appearance meets work specifications. No unnecessary delays in starting work as specified time. No abuse of meal periods, coffee breaks, quitting time or other special absences. Supervisor is given proper notice in advance of absences.
10. 10. FIELD OPERATIONS: Work is thorough and tasks completed. Wasted time is minimal between locations. Employee can handle a variety of tasks. Employee gives 100% to task assigned.
11. 11. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF EMPLOYEE POSITION: Efficiently performs energy saving measures including Insulation, carpentry, drywall and other work. Efficiently removes debris from clients home when necessary. Efficiently works as part of crew for other related work.
12. 12. SAFETY HABITS: Employee approaches task in a safe manner. Employee wears protective equipment and clothing as required. Employee work safety record since previous evaluation is good.
Employee notifies supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience Three months to twelve months of similar or related experience.
Education A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills
Physical Job requires use of general hand tool and power tools. Frequent lifting of up to 50lbs
Requirements unassisted, frequent walking, squatting standing. Occasional climbing of ladders, steps etc.
Exposure to weather elements.
