Summary:
Tri Star Energy is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Tax Analyst to join our innovative Accounting/Finance team in our Store Support Center in Nashville, TN. The Tax Analyst is responsible for performing the following Primary Duties and Responsibilities listed below. Within this purview, the Tax Analyst should also strive to identify areas where efficiency improvements are needed and offer recommendations and solutions for enhancement. This position provides direct support to the Manager of Fuel Accounting.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Timely prepare, file, and pay monthly and quarterly fuel excise tax returns.
- Assist with month-end financial close activities.
- Prepare routine and adjusting journal entries and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts; ensure reconciling items are fully documented and resolved in a timely manner.
- Support jurisdictional audits by gathering and analyzing data to provide responses to requests from taxing authorities.
- Research and stay current on changes and/or updates to tax laws and regulations for assigned jurisdictions.
- Maintain multi-jurisdiction fuel tax setup in PDI accounting system.
- Oversee daily import jobs of fuel-related data into PDI Enterprise.
- Maintain and update fuel-related site/customer info in PDI Enterprise.
- Assist with maintenance of fuel customer pricing setup in PDI Enterprise.
- Participate in special projects, as required in alignment with Department and Company initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of corporate accounting experience.
- Or, any equivalent combination of education and experience in job-related activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within the fuel/petroleum industry, excise or indirect tax accounting.
