Tri-State Civil Construction is a fast growing construction firm performing high profile public and commercial projects in NYC/NJ Metro area. We are seeking an experienced, qualified Accountant with construction background who is eager to work and assist the accounting and management in running the business.

General Responsibilities :
· Maintain Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Prepare journal entries
- Enter payroll in Sage and reconcile with ADP
- Record job costing
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Record and reconcile inter-company transactions
- Maintain Sage data records (payroll rates, employee status, etc.)
- Maintain fixed asset list and depreciation schedule
- Maintain WIP schedule
- Assist in month-end closing
- Assist in year-end financial review
- Assist in sales tax and 1099 filing
- Serve as the contact for accounting related inquiries
- Generate accounting reports as requested
- Assist in special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent in written and verbal communication
- Strong work ethic
- Detail oriented
- 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Sage100 Contractor experience preferred
