Description
The Procurement Specialist I will work closely with all supply chain team members to ensure parts arrive from vendors as required for production, maintenance of machines, and manufacturing supplies with proper documentation to support continuous production flow. This position will manage off-the-shelf material and supply purchases assigned. The Procurement Specialist will work closely with and assist the Procurement Specialist II as required on requisitions/projects and other daily requirements. This is a full-time hourly position located in Rancho Cordova, CA and reports to the Technical Procurement Manager.
Requirements
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1.*Manage a core group of off-the shelf suppliers for materials such as: Steel, Aluminum, Plastics, Hardware, and Electronics.
2.*Responsible for understanding and maintaining accurate data in Tri Tool’s ERP system
3.*Purchase assigned requisition parts, assuring timely procurement of required supplies
4.*Manage all aspects of relationship with assigned vendors to include: cost, lead-time, terms, invoicing, and supply flow.
5.*Work with engineers to help research potential sources, arrange supplier meetings, procure parts, and form vendor relationships.
6.*Process Outside Service Vendors as required
7.*Identify, qualify, and develop new Off the Shelf suppliers.
8. Deliver and pick up required parts, as required.
9. Document procedures and work instructions as assigned by Technical Procurement Manager.
10. Assist Specialist II with project and service requirements.
11. Assist with annual physical inventory.
12. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 to 3 years of direct experience in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience/knowledge in raw material selection preferred.
- Highly organized with demonstrated high proficiency in ERP systems.
- Experience in lean/continuous improvement concepts is strongly desired.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
- Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, detail-orientation and negotiating required.
- Knowledge of ERP purchasing, materials and supply chain functions.
- Strong professional interpersonal skills, driven, self-managed and results oriented.
- Ability to comply with existing processes, help identify and adapt quickly to new processes.
- Effective communication skills and ethical standards to articulate, enforce, and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications; with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability in making good decisions.
- Able to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in order to meet established deadlines.
- Willingness to listen and learn, then express ideas for improvement.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED; College degree highly preferred in related field.
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:
The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
- Valid Driver's License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without accommodations:
- Maneuvering in and around the warehouse/production areas
- Bending and stooping
- Lifting and moving boxes weighing up to 35 pounds
- Viewing computer monitor/screen
- Utilizing keyboard
- Answering phone/making calls
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office as well as a manufacturing and warehouse environment. May be exposed to noise from equipment.
Salary : $51,000 - $60,000
