Fire Sprinkler Fitter

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years as a fire sprinkler fitter (compensation will be based upon experience)
• Ability to read complex building plans and install systems with minimal supervision
• Eagerness to learn new skills and new technology in a rapidly evolving field
• Excellent communication, coordination and time management skills
• Journeyman level understanding of NFPA and other building codes
• Fitter must supply and maintain all hand tools required; company will supply all power tools
• Experience in underground fire mains, aboveground steel and Blazemaster/Flameguard sprinkler systems

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work alone or in teams
• Serve as a foreman / lead fitter on select projects
• Train apprentices in trade skills and company policies
• Communicate and coordinate with other trades
• Use company issued tablet computer to track project time and coordinate with superintendent, office, suppliers, and customers as necessary
• If hired without a Portland Fire and Rescue certificate of fitness card, you will be expected to take coursework and/or exams for your certificate.

This will be an hourly paid position. Initial wage will be negotiated upon hire and will be subject to skills/experience assessment and overall fit within company during a 60-day probationary period. Subsequent to probation, position will carry full benefits, including company vehicle, health/dental care, 401k/retirement and PTO.

Stated wage rates in this ad should be considered a minimum. Triad Fire Protection regularly participates in Prevailing Wage projects, which increases fitter wages.

Pay: $42.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
