Job Overview: Responsible for developing and implementing Hocokata Ti’s educational outreach programming to promote Dakota culture and history. Outreach programs include interpretive and hands-on learning programs to promote the value of Dakota culture, provide enriching visitor experiences, and educates and engages diverse audiences. Expand external partnerships within the educational community with high standards of excellence to promote the exhibit and public programs.

Job Requirements:

Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in American Indian Studies, American Indian History, education, or
    equivalent experience with Dakota Community organizations.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in education at a multidisciplinary museum or cultural organization.
  • Knowledge of museum education program development.
  • Knowledge of Dakota Indian history and culture obtained through coursework or other experience.
  • Excellent public speaking skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows Operating System.
  • A valid driver’s license is required with good driving record.
