What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spanish or French Tutors position at Tribeca Language?
Our language Center is looking for talented, experienced native language tutors for private and group sessions taught off-site on a hourly, part-time contract (1099) basis in New York.
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor Degree in language or education preferred
- Native in a foreign language (Spanish, French primarily but open to more languages)
- Enthusiastic person with a vibrant and positive personality
- Pro-active, fun and dynamic
- Creative and pedagogical
- Have a passion to share native language
- At least 2 years experience as a tutor or teacher
- Available to work in Manhattan and/or Brooklyn and/or Queens
- Pre-school teaching or relevant experience with children a plus
- Pre-school or teaching certification/degree a plus
- Academic language teaching experience (middle-school, high-school level) with notable success a plus
Key responsibilities:
- Create a lesson plan and the content of each lesson
- Create fun, engaging and creative sessions
- Captivate the attention of the students (young children, students and/or adults)
- Adapt lessons to each student age, level, and learning goals
- For academic language tutoring, being able to follow a school curriculum and adapt to it to lead the student to success.
- Increase the confidence of students in using the target language
- Maintain logs and regular, timely reports
- Periodically assess students’ progress (per semester)
Must have US work authorization

Salary: $35.00 to $70.00 /hour
