Asphalt Paving Estimator

Overview:

Do you have experience in Paving and parking lot maintenance? Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career in the asphalt/concrete industry? If so, we have an opportunity for you! We are located in the Chicagoland area, and we are seeking an experienced asphalt paving estimator to join our team. As an asphalt paving estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for various projects. You will also coordinate with sales, operations, and ownership to ensure proper execution. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent organizational skills, be able to multi-task, work well with a team and have a strong background in estimating in the paving/concrete industry.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze project scope and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, operations, sales, and suppliers to gather necessary information for bids
- Utilize software tools to create estimates
- Review and interpret blueprints
- Maintain accurate records of estimates and bid results

Experience:

- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
- A proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
- A strong knowledge of asphalt paving materials, methods, and equipment
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an asphalt paving estimator or a related position
