Summary: The Operations Manager manages all activities related to operations and the production of seafood products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates:

Key Responsibilities:

Manages production operations of the processing facility, including staffing, engineering, planning, quality control and maintenance to effect operational efficiency and economy.
Manages relationships with independent fishermen and tender vessels who supply the facilities. Recruits new fishermen and tenders as needed.
Ensures that all facility operations are in compliance with laws and regulations. Ensures that the final product is safe to deliver to market.
Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
Resolves any operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Develops and maintains operations business plans including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs to ensure performance at planned capacity.
Monitors facility production reports and financials to ensure all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
Provides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.
Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:

Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years supervision/leadership experience in manufacturing operation environment
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
Proficient in MS Office programs

Preferred Qualifications:

Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing experience; Green Belt or higher certification preferred
Experience managing people and supply logistics in remote Alaska.
Effective at communicating with people from diverse cultures.
Must be flexible, innovative, and comfortable in setting own priorities and driving same to the production floor
Able to work both independently and within a team generating results with general/minimal guidance
