What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Trilogy Innovations?
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in managing payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll taxes, month-end close, onboarding, budgeting/forecasting, and banking. Proficiency in Unanet and/or ADP is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:
- Process and manage payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and address any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Coordinate with HR for new hires, terminations, and changes in payroll status.

Accounts Receivable:
- Generate and send out invoices to clients.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve any billing issues.

Accounts Payable:
- Review and process vendor invoices and payment requests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

Payroll Taxes:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of payroll tax returns.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Resolve payroll tax discrepancies and issues.

Month-End Close:
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely closing of the financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

Onboarding:
- Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all payroll-related information is accurately captured and processed.
- Coordinate with HR to ensure seamless integration of new employees into the payroll system.

Budgeting/Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather budget information and provide financial insights.

Banking:
- Manage daily banking activities, including bank reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with banking policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software such as Unanet and/or ADP is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
