Surgical Assistant

Trimble Dental is hiring a surgical tech to support our implant and reconstructive surgery practice.

We are seeking a surgical tech with experience and training in the medical field to transition into the dental field. You will be part of a team that delivers life-changing improvements to our patients by allowing them to smile, eat, and speak normally and with confidence. We expect to build upon your existing skills and education to train you in both the surgical process (relating to bone grafting and implant placement) and the restorative process (delivering teeth on the implants).

Overview of the position:

• Surgical education / experience preferred
• Knowledge of commonly prescribed medications is preferred
• Pre and Post op surgical operatory turnarounds
• Direct support of surgeries and instrumentation management
• Prepare biologic products to be used in surgery
• Support Management of Patients while under IV sedation
• Charting and Documentation for surgical and restorative procedures
• Interact with external vendors and laboratories that supply surgical and dental products
• Assist Dentists chair-side during procedures ensuring the comfort and safety of patients
• Educate patients on their treatment plans including maintaining their oral health
• Operate dental equipment, including Cone beam CT, several types of Intraoral scanners, and digital x-rays
• Prepare treatment rooms for restorative procedures and examinations
• Sterilize and maintain instruments/cassettes and equipment according to infection control guidelines
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and safety requirements

Position requirements:

• Ability to contribute and integrate with a high-performance clinical team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while possessing excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients and coworkers
• Familiarity with general anatomy, systems, and dental anatomy (will train dental)
• Knowledge of infection control sterile protocols
• Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patients

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.80 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
