Trinity Industries, Inc. Corporate Security Department is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Central Monitoring Station Surveillance Officer in our Dallas, Texas based Security Monitoring Center.
The Central Monitoring Station Surveillance Officer performs various duties related to central security monitoring station operations.
What you'll do:
- Remote video-based monitoring of facilities for the detection of and response to unauthorized intrusions and other critical incidents
- Monitoring of web-based application for early detection of severe weather that may impact facilities so that rapid notification may be made for the protection of personnel
- Remote support of emergencies and critical incidents to facilitate evacuation and public safety response
- Performs remote access control duties to provide access to personnel who have satisfied requirements for access to controlled/restricted areas
- Operates multiple computer-based platforms related to video surveillance and electronic access controls
- Performs ongoing monitoring of systems and equipment. Troubleshoots systems problems and reports systems deficiencies for on-site maintenance, as required
- Conducts research of recorded video events and access events in support of official inquires and investigations
What you'll need:
- Minimum educational requirement – high school diploma (or equivalent)
- Prior central monitoring station / security operations center experience preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface effectively with individuals of all levels
- Ability to work shift work, as required, for 24/7/365 operational coverage
- Ability to concentrate attention to the evaluation of video-based alerts and determine response requirements in accordance with established written protocols and instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing, in support of routine central monitoring station operations
- Ability to function under stressful conditions so as to effectively initiate and support public safety agency responses to criminal intrusions and other critical incidents
- Ability to sit for long periods while maintaining focus and concentration
- Possess computer competencies necessary to utilize various common computer applications (e.g., MS Outlook, MS Word) and to quickly learn to use relevant MS Windows and web-based security systems and weather monitoring applications
